This course is two days in length
Day one will consist of lecture and skills practice. (8am-6pm)
Day two consists of Scenarios. (830am-430pm)
Lodging is not included in the cost of the course
This course is certified with the National Association for Search and Rescue and the certification is good for 2 years
Your instructors are Search and Rescue personnel and will explain all aspects of how to deal with emergencies in the wilderness!

All gear will be provided.
This course requires minimal physical activity.
This course meets NFS requirements for guiding.
Training begins at $250 per person.
Subjects Covered: Legal Aspects of Wilderness Medicine, Preventing and Caring for Injuries, Shock, Wilderness Wound Care, Burns, Injuries to Bones and Joints, Head and Spinal Injuries, Eye and Facial Injuries, Chest and Abdominal Injuries, Environmental Hazards, Hyperthermia, Hypothermia, Altitude Illness, Lightning Strike, Mosquitoes, Ticks, Disease, Bees, Wasps, Spiders, Venomous Snakes, Medical Problems in the Wilderness, and Wilderness First Aid Kits
Skills Performed: Patient Assessment Methods, Medication Administration, Splinting Fractures, Slinging Dislocations, Bleeding Control, Thermoregulation, Spinal Immobilization, and Performing Patient Assessments.
